Making pen cases is a type of Iranian art that dates back to the Sassanid era. At first, the pen cases were made of metal and the designs on them were very simple and in toreutics, but in later periods, beautiful pen cases were also created of wood. When lacquer painting flourished during the Safavid period, it prompted artists to make cardboard pen cases and apply their art on them.
Pen-cases and pen-case making are among the products that have a long history and connection with Iranian art and culture, because the most valuable artistic heritage of our ancient artists have been imprinted on pen cases.
P.S.: Pen cases are a relic of cultural identity and the most important means of inscription and calligraphy.
